“Many pieces-one vision: the trauma-informed work of the Elementary School Counsellor”

Gillian Smith and Heather Main have a combined 39 years as school counsellors and combined 20 years as members of one school district’s Critical Incident Team. Dr. Gillian Smith is a faculty member in the Department of Counselling Psychology at SFU and Adler University. Heather Main is an elementary school counsellor. Heather has 15 years experience as an elementary school counsellor, 10 years on CIRT Team.

    Dr. Gillian Smith is a lecturer at Simon Fraser University and Assistant Professor at Adler University. She has 24 years combined experience as an elementary and secondary school counsellor.  She has also worked previously on the Critical Incident Team for the Vancouver School Booard alongside Heather Main.
