Bullying - Stop the Hurt

 This is a fun ( yes despite the topic)  and interactive session, geared towards  counsellors ,teachers and others working with children/youth. It will allow participants to learn the skills necessary to assist with the emotional hurt assocaited with being "Bullied" as well as how alleviate the bullying itself, both on a individual and school wide basis.

This year the focus will be on the truama ( potentaially  life long) associated with being "Bullied" . Participants will learn how to interupt the cycle of negative thinking, emotionally support a bullied child and  help them build resiliency. In addition we will explore the world and thinking of the child or youth drawn to "Bullying" and how to change their behaviour.

This Anti-bullying work has won the Solicitor General’s Award for Community Safety, The Society for Children and Youth Award for Child and Youth Friendly Communities, and A Youth Action Award from The BC Attorney General’s Office, along with several other corporate or society awards.

 Included in these sessions are ways in which participants can teach anti-bullying skills to the children/youth they work with  assist them to build resiliency, and how to be an "Up-stander", instead of a "By-stander'. Children/youth, can then personally end any bullying they encounter, before it grows. It should be noted that many adults haven taken this workshop has used the information garnered to recognize  and effectively deal with the "Bullying" they encounter in their adults lives, including co-workers, supervisors, abusive relationships, and sexual harrassment.

This workshop has been presented to Professional Associations, Schools, PACs, Teachers, and others, through-out the lower main-land and Fraser Valley for the past 18 years and has now reached thousands of children/youth, parents and professionals.

  • Steve Andrews

    Steve Andrews - Bully Back Off was formed by Steve over 18 years ago. He has worked with children and teens for over 25 years, and has over 6 years of post- secondary education. He is widely known as a consultant on youth related challenges. 

    His work has received much positive recognition, including awards from; the Solicitor General’s Office for Community Safety, The Society for Children and Youth Award for Child and Youth Friendly Communities, and A Youth Action Award from The BC Attorney General’s Office, along with several other community, corporate, and society awards.

    He is a regular presenter at teaching professionals and other conferences, as well as teaching Anti-Bullying and Stress/Anger Management skills directly to; professionals, students, and parents on a weekly basis. He has enjoyed teaching College level-Child and Youth Care Counselling and being an Instructor/Counsellor at several alternate schools. In addition he has been a Youth Services Coordinator and a Counsellor in many B.C. Municipalities.

    Currently he is a Child/Youth and Family Coordinator/Counsellor in the Fraser Valley, and continues to offer workshops throughout the province.
